Technology Lead Hydrogen, Energy Storage, e-Mobility

Marc studied Chemistry in Hamburg and did hisĀ  final thesis in material research for Photovoltaics. An industrial PHD followed in the DaimlerChrysler Group / University of Hamburg within the fuel cell sector. He stayed 14 years with this group having responsibilities in research, development and production setup of fuel cells, electrolysers and batteries up to Director of Fuel Cell Development of MTU CFC Solutions, a subsidiary of the group. As of 2010 and 2013 Marc executed two start-ups in fuel cell and battery technology, one as a spin-off of the German Fraunhofer Society.

Marc joined Munich Re in 2016 and headed the Green Tech Solutions Team for APAC based in Hong Kong for five years. After returning to Munich end of 2021 Marc provides the global Technical Due Diligences and Risk Assessments for the Munich Re Group for Hydrogen / P2X, Energy Storage and e-Mobility. Green Tech Solutions mainly provides long-term risk transfer for renewable energies, taking the technology risk out of the financing scheme. This ranges from acting as a business enabler for individual start-up companies up to improving the financing of large energy infrastructure investment projects such as solar- and wind energy parks or Green Hydrogen / Ammonia plants.
